Del Sur is located in the Black Mountain Ranch area of the city of San Diego.  The Black Mountain Ranch area is the northern most portion of the city of San Diego.   There are two major developments in Black Mountain Ranch.  Santaluz is in the southern half and Del Sur in the northern half.  Black Mountain ranch is known for its beautiful open space. There is 1,000 acres of open space.

The schools in Del Sur are outstanding.  Buyers come from all over seeking out the schools.  A new school is being built at the corner of Camino Del Norte next to Del Norte High School.  The school will have grades K – 8.  Planned opening is set for the Fall of 2014.
